From emergency shelter to entrepreneurship, our evidence-based programs provide the full continuum of support families need to achieve self-sufficiency and break generational cycles of poverty.
We believe that housing is the linchpin to achieving success. Our main goal is that all families will transition into permanent housing with the capability of maintaining that housing in a clean and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
In order to reach self-sufficiency clients must acquire a myriad of skills and knowledge. Time for Change Foundation offers a number of programs to our clients to prepare them for obstacles they may face when they reach the ability to live on their own.
Our Comprehensive Support Services
Time for Change Foundation introduced our groundbreaking scholarship initiative, designed to advance women of color towards economic stability and higher educational achievement. With the generous support of our donors, we have been able to serve 180+ women in successfully completing vocational training programs and the Black and Brown Opportunities for Profit (BBOP) Business Academy for entrepreneurs. By providing financial aid, we aim to dismantle barriers and foster pathways to a brighter future. Together, we’re cultivating a community where every woman has the opportunity to thrive, contributing not only to her own success but also to the enrichment of her family and community.
Break the cycle and build your future with Time for Change Foundation’s Improving Adult Reentry (IAR) Project—offering incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women the support, resources, and proven strategies to not just successfully transition back into society, but to thrive there permanently. The IAR Project provides comprehensive employment services including work readiness, job placement, vocational support, and educational services, along with supportive services such as therapy and mental health counseling, drug and alcohol outpatient treatment, legal support, family reunification services, and housing assistance.
TFCF’s W.I.S.H. Program addresses housing insecurity for formerly incarcerated women at risk of becoming homeless by providing rental assistance paired with case management. We offer move-in assistance, eviction prevention support, shelter vouchers, family stipends, first month’s rent, and security deposits to help clients maintain stable housing. If you are a formerly incarcerated woman with proof of incarceration who is trying to rent an apartment, room, or sober living space, or living with family but need financial assistance, our goal is to help you succeed through housing placement, legal support, case management, and family reunification services.
Advocacy through leadership development and civic engagement empowers our women to be the change they want to see. The empowerment builds on the strength that these women have and teaches them that they are the best advocates for themselves and their children.
Certified by the State of California Department of Health Care Services, TFCF is certified to provide outpatient alcohol and/or other drug abuse services. We educate our clients on substance abuse, offer counseling to persons with addictive behaviors, and use cognitive therapy to help them overcome challenges that they may face. Our clients learn how to build healthy life skills and overcome traumatic experiences to live healthy productive lives.
