SAN BERNARDINO, CA — March 19, 2026 — For nearly two decades, Marci Coffey has operated from a simple but powerful belief: that where you live should not determine the quality of care you receive. That conviction has quietly shaped some of the most impactful health initiatives the Inland Empire has ever seen.

“Marci Coffey embodies what it means to serve with both expertise and heart,” said Dr. Vanessa Perez Trang, Executive Director of Time for Change Foundation. “For nearly 20 years she has been building bridges between communities and the care they deserve. That is the spirit of compassion this award was created to recognize, and we are honored to celebrate her.”

On Friday, April 24, 2026, Time for Change Foundation will present Marci Coffey with the Ramos Family Spirit of Compassion Award at its 24th Annual Awards Gala, Anchored in Promise, Powered by Purpose.

As Director of Strategic Provider Partnerships at Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP), Marci has been a driving force behind programs that meet people where they are — literally. She led the creation and implementation of IEHP’s Health Navigator Program, a community health worker and promotora model that brought trusted health advocates directly into underserved neighborhoods. She also spearheaded the creation of IEHP Community Resource Centers in San Bernardino, Riverside, and Victorville; physical spaces where residents can access the resources, referrals, and support they need to navigate a complex healthcare system.

Before joining IEHP in 2006, Marci honed her commitment to community health through her work with the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health in Child and Adolescent Health laying a foundation of advocacy for vulnerable populations that has never wavered.

Today, Marci oversees the IEHP Healthcare Scholarship Fund, providing scholarships to medical students and nurse practitioner students in psychiatry in partnership with Loma Linda University, UC Riverside, and California University of Science and Medicine. In a region facing a critical shortage of mental health providers, her work is helping build the pipeline the Inland Empire desperately needs.

Twenty years in, Marci Coffey is still showing up — still forging her career on efforts that improve the health and well-being of Inland Empire residents and still advocating for the communities others too often overlook.

Other honorees this year include:

  • Julie Castro Abrams — Women’s Global Impact Award
